Here are 5 acts of self love you should practice every Sunday to get ready for the week ahead:
1. Aromatherapy
Start by setting a mood that encourages self love & selfcare. One of the easiest ways to make an atmospheric difference in any space is to introduce a new smell. Essential Oils and aromatherapy candles induce change in our mood and thought pattern, helping is to relax and feel better.
2. Long Bath/ Shower
A hot long shower has the power to chase away the grumpiest day. I personally recommend what I like to call “The Deluxe Shower Experience” This includes aromatherapy, Sunday music playlist, all your most indulgent selfcare products & goodies, and maybe even a glass of wine depending on how you roll. For at least one hour, turn your bathroom into your oasis. Relax, reset, rejuvinate, and enjoy the free autotune/ bathroom acoustics lol.
3. Smudging
Smudging is the practice of spiritual cleansing with smoke. It uses the natural qualities of aromatic plants, along with the smudgers prayers and intentions, to improve the psychic environment. It is an act of will that removes bad energy, negative influences and sets a positive intention for your environment, bringing a feeling of peace and clarity.

4. Intentional Fun
Having fun physiologically helps to balance out our stress and feel-good hormones. It also boosts creativity, energy, productivity and overall cognition. As it pertains to self care, paint your nails, play around with a fun new hairstyle or makeup look whilst catching up on your favorite shows or sharing laughs with your bestie on the phone. Whatever brings you joy, make time to do it intentionally.
5. Journaling/ Planning
Spend some time processing your thoughts, ideas and emotions by writing them down in a journal. Journaling is a great way to release bottled up feelings that often weigh us down, and express your most intimate thoughts whilst still keeping them private. While your at it, write yourself some inspirational messages or affirmations to get you through the week ahead and stick them in places you’d find them when you need them most.
